Serving at Bristol Lodge

In Waltham, just a few short miles from where most of us live, dozens of people live on the streets or in shelters. They survive by the generosity of government and community programs. The Middlesex Human Services Agency sponsors the ...

Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen @ Immanuel United Methodist Church, 545 Moody St., Waltham, MA 02453.

Every night, rain or shine, workday or holiday, between 60 and 110 people come to the kitchen for a hot, nutritious meal prepared and served by volunteers.  In addition to our hot meal program, 18,000 sandwiches are prepared annually for the homeless. Guests are allowed in daily at 3:30PM. Coffee and snacks are provided. Meal is served at 5:00PM.

The kitchen relies heavily on volunteers, donated food and paper products from local businesses, churches, schools and individual residents of Waltham and the surrounding communities.

RCC is one of those providing volunteers and food. You can choose to purchase or make casseroles/dishes ahead of time or to prepare dishes the day of and help serve them.  We are looking for additional volunteers for our next scheduled commitment on December 31, at 4:00 -  6:00 pm; contact Deb Tall to participate.
